"SERVICE DOGS AND SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN-
                                      WHAT A WONDERFUL COMBINATION!!"

" Let us introduce you to the children of the Possible Dream Foundation, the dogs of Mt. Holly Kennels and the winning combination of Pawsable Dream Dogs.

A person going by Mt. Holly Kennels in Hayesville, NC will first notice the beautiful countryside.  Going down into the property, they will notice the dogs.  And inside the homes are the children not just children, but "special" children.  Thats the surface.

Look deeper and youll see just how these special-needs children interact with the dogs.  They play with the puppies, socialize and train the older dogs at all levels and are responsible for all the dogs needs under supervision.   Now they can show them, thanks to the UKC and Service Dogs of America sporting events.

Camille Geraldi and William Finks recognized the special connection between children and dogs. What did they do about it? They became Certified Dog Trainers so they, in turn, could teach the children to train dogs.

There is no better combination than having "special" children (most of our children are Down Syndrome along with varying genetic disorders, all are medically involved) teaching service dogs.  If a dog is going into a home where a person walks with an awkward gait, its used to it because some of these children walk in the same manner.  A wheelchair and/or crutches in their new home?  Again, these dogs have been around wheelchairs and crutches so its nothing new.  A home with children who will play and handle them?  Again, "been there, done that."

Four years ago we began a union with Service Dogs of America.  This has given our children a place to be seen doing what they do so well.  You can see the dogs accomplishments by the titles they earn.  You can see the childrens accomplishments not only by the titles their dogs earn, but also by the smiles on their faces, the gleam in their eyes and their sense of responsibility and rewards. Very special children and very special dogs, indeed! "
